Introduction to Learning from Failure
Learning From Failure
A Bandage: Like a Band-Aid healing a wound and making your body stronger, failure heals your mind making sure you’re smarter and stronger next time you try again! View each failure as an opportunity to get stronger and better at everything you do!
He Was Only Three Feet Away!
Many years ago, in a land far, far away, a young man was looking for a treasure chest of gold. His coach gave him a map showing where the treasure may be buried and the boy’s parents bought him new tools and everything else needed to start. So the boy went to the spot and he started digging for the treasure. He dug and he dug and he dug every single day for weeks on end until he began to be frustrated and tired of digging. So after weeks of hard work with no reward the boy decided to call it quits, give his tools away to another boy, and screamed at his coach for failing him. Believe it or not, the very next day the other boy started digging and found gold just 3 Feet Away from where the first boy stopped digging! Moral of the story is success comes to those who are patient. After all, you can only fail if you quit!
Learn From Your Mistakes
In all honesty, failing is actually a good thing! There’s a great quote in the Batman movies that goes like this; “Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up.” This holds true in every situation as every failure is a chance to learn from your mistakes and try again. It’s perfectly fine to get a bad grade, lose a game, or even say the wrong thing every once in a while. Mistakes happen and understanding why what you did was wrong is far more important. Just take note of exactly what you’ll do differently next time and try not to be too hard on yourself. Every mistake is an opportunity to grow and work towards a successful future!
