Introduction to Creative Writing
Creative Writing
The Pen: True geniuses understand that the pen is mightier than the sword! Daily writing in a journal feeds your soul, unleashes your deepest thoughts, activates your creativity, and can even inspire others and change the world!
The Magic Of Creative Writing
One day, on a long delayed train ride to London, a woman named Joanne had an idea that seemed crazy. She imagined that the train she was on was enchanted and led to a fantasy world where young wizards and witches attended a magical school to learn and practice magic. Joanne wrote her idea down on some napkins and a paper bag and over the next couple years, refined her idea, typing it all out on an old typewriter she had dusted off. This woman is now known as the acclaimed author J.K. Rowling and that crazy idea she had is now known as Harry Potter. The amazingly creative story soon became the highest selling book series ever created, one of the most successful movie franchises, and most recently a top Broadway play. This is the real magic of creative writing as writing down even your most wildest ideas can lead to creative thinking, a fun hobby, and even art that millions of other kids may enjoy.
Why Creative Writing Is So Important
As you already know from earlier lessons in your Life Mastery adventure, the curiosity that every child has is one of your best qualities! Kids naturally have way more great ideas than adults do and one of those ideas may become a big part of your future. Every time you day-dream or get lost in your thoughts, it’s like your mind creates a seed. Writing your ideas out on paper is like watering that seed and the more you do it, the higher the chance that seed will grow into a tree! Not only does this stimulate your mind, keeping you sharp and creative, writing things down also helps you focus your thoughts and achieve clarity. These thoughts could even play a big part in your future by helping you understand complicated subjects, keep track of your deepest feelings, concentrate on the things that inspire you, lead to a business idea like a lemonade stand, or even be the start of a book, movie, or short story!
